“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
~Jiddu Krishnamurti
This quote captures the heart of my approach to therapy. Much of the distress we experience is not a sign of personal failure, but a natural response to an unhealthy or unjust world. In a society that often overlooks the unique needs and inner worlds of individuals, our pain can feel invisible or pathologized.
I strive to create a space where your experiences are honored, not judged. Together, we’ll explore your emotions, uncover your resilience, and build a deeper understanding of your inner life. I’m here to support you in navigating the challenges you face, not by simply conforming to dysfunction, but by helping you find your own authentic path forward.
All are welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for individuals and partners, regardless of identity or relationship dynamics to explore their inner worlds and find self-acceptance…
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working in the federal government as a Foreign Affairs Officer and in international education. During that time, I grappled with anxiety, ADHD, and depression. Eventually, burnout brought me to a turning point and the beginning of my own healing journey. Along the way, I discovered a deep calling to walk alongside others as they navigate their own paths toward healing. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s in Arabic Language from the University of Maryland, College Park. I've lived in Cairo, Beirut, Damascus, Aleppo, Irbid, and New York City. I’m Muslim and was initially drawn to Arabic through my Islamic studies. While Islam remains a core part of my spirituality, I consider myself a perennialist who honors all spiritual and non-spiritual paths. Above all, I believe everyone is worthy of love and acceptance.
These personal experiences shape how I show up as a therapist: with empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to holistic care. In my individual therapy work, I use an integrative approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Experiencing. I also offer psychedelic harm reduction and integration work. My focus areas include anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and healthy masculinity.
As a couples therapist, I use tools from the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners—both monogamous and non-monogamous—deepen their connection and navigate challenges. I love working with relationship dynamics. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the transformation that can happen when couples learn to communicate more openly, resolve conflict with care, and embrace intimacy. Together, we’ll explore your individual and shared needs, boundaries, and values.
