This quote summarizes my approach to counseling. Much of the mental distress we experience is a normal adaptation to an unhealthy society. Everyone experiences stress and trauma differently, and our society often fails to recognize the unique needs of individuals. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their emotions, build resilience, and gain new perspectives. I understand that life can be difficult, so I'm here to provide support to help you navigate your individual challenges and find the best path forward.

“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” ~Jiddu Krishnamurti

All are welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for individuals and partners, regardless of identity or relationship dynamics to explore their inner worlds and find self-acceptance

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for over a decade in the federal government, as a Foreign Affairs Officer and in the field of international education. I struggled with anxiety, ADHD and depression, and after finally reaching burnout, I started my own healing journey. I discovered my passion to serve others in their path to healing through therapy. I have a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and a Masters in Arabic Language from the University of Maryland, College Park. I have lived in Cairo, Beirut, Damascus, Aleppo, Irbid, and New York City. I am Muslim and was initially drawn to study Arabic as part of my Islamic studies. Although Islam is a major part of my spirituality, I consider myself to be a perennialist and honor all pathways regardless of religion or non-religion. Most of all, I believe everyone is worthy of love and acceptance.

In my individual therapy work, I utilize an integrative approach that draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing to create a holistic approach to mental health and well-being. Additionally, I offer psychedelic harm reduction and integration work and offer free gender affirming surgery letters. My primary focus areas are anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and healthy masculinity. As a relationship or couples therapist, I utilize Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) tools to help partners (monogamous and non-monogamous) work through their issues and strengthen their bond. I love working on relationship dynamics! I find it incredibly rewarding to witness the positive changes that can take place between partners in sessions. Oftentimes, this involves providing tools to communicate more effectively, resolve conflicts in a healthy way, and building comfort with our sexuality. Together, we will explore your individual and collective needs, boundaries, and values.
